Great Prairie AEA is a one of ten area education agencies (AEAs) in the state created by the 1974 Iowa Legislature to ensure all children have equal educational opportunities. AEA's serve as intermediate units providing educational services to local schools. Great Prairie AEA provides leadership and service to more than 40,000 students, 3,700 teachers and administrators and 36 school districts in Southeast Iowa. Great Prairie AEA's programs and services are agency-wide focusing on improving student performance.

Customized, client-specific application forms and submission filtering reports are built into the system when it is implemented, and our user-friendly interface makes learning and using all the functionality of Applicant Tracking a snap.

Our Solution

  • Provide a user-friendly tool to post jobs directly to a web site.
  • Allow prospective district employees to fill out and submit a job application form online.
  • Allow administrators to log in and view the applications received, and then provide them with options for downloading and managing the applications.
  • Give applicants a way to upload a resume, cover letter, and other relevant documents to submit with their application.
  • Customized to display online versions of the district’s former paper application forms.
  • Contain the ability to filter and search applications using several different criterias.
  • Provide client-specific forms which contained all information specified by the client, and conformed to any other requirements they might of had.
  • Allow the client to search their applicants based on the position or positions the applicant expressed interest in.
  • Include security that was customized according to the client’s needs.

Effects

With the new online applicant tracking system, Great Prairie AEA was able to quickly and easily check for responses to their online application forms without any previous computer knowledge. Applicants were able to log on with their own ID and password and see the applications available to them, and easily fill out and submit the applications online. The system automatically stored each application and allowed administrators to search, export, and manage the applications. Applicant Tracking provided the district with an online job application system that completely transformed their virtual job application process.
