Hickman Mills C-1 School District was established in 1902, when the Hickman Mills area schools became the first Consolidated School District in the state of Missouri. Over the past 100 years, the district has grown from less than 100 students to an enrollment today of 7,047 students. Each of the district's schools strives for academic excellence. The schools include: eight elementary schools, two middle schools, two senior high schools, two special schools along with a comprehensive gifted program, an early childhood center and an alternative school.

Client Requirements

Hickman Mills needed a progressive system that aligned with their unique curriculum and standards information online. Their approach to curriculum design and improvement warranted a system with a number of unique qualities. They needed a scalable system, which would grow with them as they added information and made improvements to their curriculum. Hickman Mills needed a comprehensive system, which would provide a wide range of functionality across the board, allowing any and all desired tasks to be performed efficiently. Most importantly, they needed an intuitive system that could not only replicate their paper-based processes exactly, but would allow users complete freedom and awareness within the interface – freedom to make any desired change instantly, and awareness of all the functionality available and how to use it.
