The Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit, private operating foundation focusing on the major health care issues facing the U.S., with a growing role in global health. The foundation develops and runs its own research and communications programs to deliver free public information to the public.

The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation established the Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program at Howard University to honor the legacy of former Foundation Trustee and Congresswoman Barbara Jordan and to expand the pool of students in the field of health policy who are interested in issues affecting racial and ethnic minority and underserved communities.

Challenge

Implementation of an application tracking management system for the foundation’s annual Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program at Howard University.

Solution

Applicant Tracking is AllofE's solution to online application submission and review. The completely flexible and customizable system manages every aspect of the application process from submitting applications to reviewing. Customized, client-specific application forms and submission filtering reports are built into the system when it is implemented.

Implementation

The goal of implementing Applicant Tracking is to:

• Provide "Apply Online" forms to applicants that can connect directly to the foundation's web site.
• Generate comprehensive application candidate reports.
• Allow applicants to conveniently apply for the program online with the ability to save an application and finish it at a later time.
• Manage all applications through one user friendly interface.

Effects

The Kaiser Family Foundation chose AllofE's Applicant Tracking to automate and centralize the management of its scholarship applications for the Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholars Program at Howard University. Applicant Tracking will now assist the foundation in the management and tracking of the application and selection process for the 200+ applications the foundation receives every year.

Applicant Tracking will allow college seniors and recent graduates to now submit their applications online. It will include modules to manage the workflow process, upload transcripts and other documents and allow references for applicants to submit referral information online. By utlizing Applicant Tracking for its application, the foundation will be able to more efficiently manage the application process for its scholars program.
