PRODUCT FEATURES

How It Works

Curriculum Mapping provides K-12 school districts with a customizable, web based tool to create and manage unit maps, integrate state standards with course curriculum and perform comprehensive reporting and analysis on what is being taught in their schools. It customizes the format of a district’s curriculum map to match their existing curriculum or meet new curriculum requirements. The district can pick and choose the components of the map such as essential questions, content, assessments, skills, lesson plans, standards alignment, and more.

Mapping & Planning

The unit based curriculum mapping process answers key questions related to classroom instruction. It provides teachers with a guide to what to teach, when it is taught and how to conduct classroom activities and assessments. The map can be modified at any time to account for gaps and overlaps in instruction related to the aligned standards, student achievement and assessment results.

Units and Time Frames: Create curriculum maps based on course units and the time frame the information is scheduled to be taught.

Essential Questions: Define essential questions to include with each unit or map.

Standards: Link state, district and/or school standards, benchmarks and indicators to a map.

Viewing and Printing: Select one or more maps for a course to automatically generate a comprehensive course map for viewing and printing.

Standards Integration & Analysis

The system comes pre-loaded with a school’s state standards and has the ability to customize standards to meet the district’s and school’s needs. Teachers can then create curriculum maps and align the units to one or more standards, benchmarks, and indicators.  You can then generate reports to show where and how often a standard is being taught.

State Standards:  Get state standards pre-loaded into the system so that teachers can connect them to their unit maps.

District Standards:  Customize and manage standards to meet your district's specific needs.  Or integrate district and school standards directly into the system.

Curriculum Alignment:  Align course curriculum directly to the standards that need to be taught.

Repetition and Gap Analysis: Generate reports for a course or across courses to compare when a standard is being taught and how frequently.

Collaboration and Sharing

The advanced security structure gives a district the ability to define collaboration groups for curriculum map development. Access to curriculum maps can be assigned on a per teacher basis allowing them to share lesson plans, collaborate on best practices and provide constructive feedback.

Collaboration Groups: Assign teachers that are teaching the same course to collaboration groups so that curriculum being taught is common across schools and classes.

Map Sharing: Advanced security structure allows teachers to give other teachers access to view and update their maps.

Copying Maps:  Once a collaborative map has been created, each teacher can copy the map to customize it for their own class.

Rolling Over Maps: An entire course can be copied and rolled over to make changes for the next school year.

Ease of Use

Intuitive and simple. These are the hallmarks of the Curriculum Mapping design. Designed with the non-technical user in mind, every feature of the system is intuitive and user friendly. With Curriculum Mapping, teachers can acclimate easily and will feel comfortable with the system in no time at all.

User Friendly: Empower non-technical users through an intuitive user interface that is designed easily give control all users, regardless of technical skill.

Automatic Course Map Generation: Automatically generate course curriculum maps based on the units defined by the teacher.

Anywhere Anytime Access: Ensure teachers always have access to the curriculum information they need through a browser based system.

Access to Standards:  Teachers do not need to have separate standard documentation.  The required standards are integrated directly into the system.

Security

Curriculum Mapping is equipped with a comprehensive security structure that gives you peace of mind that your curriculum content is being accessed only by those who should be accessing it. You have complete control over the organization and access rights of the users of your system.

Security: Comprehensive multi-level security structure with user ID and password authentication that assigns access to system functions and data on a per user basis.

Document Access Control: Control access to every Course, Standard, Goal, and document through object level permission settings that control who views, deletes, updates, or prints what information.

User Access Control: Control what users have what privileges in the system by ensuring that the right users have access to the right information.

User Administration: Manage individual user settings or create user groups to maintain a broader control over your system users.

Customization & Integration

Curriculum Mapping is as flexible as it is powerful. Adding custom content, or customizing existing content is simple and easy thanks to the user-friendly interface. Additionally, integration of the system and the system's content into your existing infrastructure is a quick and seamless process

Standards Customization: Customize standards and goals from your existing state, district, and school requirements.

Information Integration: Import and edit new and existing curriculum documentation for use within your own curriculum site.

Content Customization: Create custom course plans and publish as custom web pages designed to match and link to your existing district Web site.
