What is the DigitalM Image Viewer?
     
 

DigitalM's light table and image viewer functionality provides a user friendly tool to compare, contrast, and annotate your images. With its advanced zooming and panning features, users can view minute details of the images. With the ability to upload multiple images into the viewer at the same time, you can see commonalities and differences between artists, architecture, eras, and much more.

 
Can I use DigitalM to figure out how much my collection is worth?
     
 

Yes. DigitalM can generate dollar-based reports, as well as creating reports based on digital image information, architects, artists, tracking codes etc.

 
Can I print out formatted labels for my image collection?
     
 

Among other things, yes. With DigitalM, you can define printing based on category, new or reconditioned images, tracking numbers, etc. You can then choose printing formats for various paper products such as library cards and slide labels.

 
Is it possible to share image data?
     
 

Yes. With DigitalM. you can share image collections and sub-collections across departments, organizations and libraries.

 
Does the system provide search functionality?
     
 

And then some. Users can search for any piece of information within DigitalM including images, artists, architects, buildings, users, codes, statuses, etc. DigitalM also includes advanced user defined searches.

 
What is an Approval Workflow process?
     
 

DigitalM's Approval Workflow processes ensure that only accurate information appears in your collection. Any new information or images added to the system go through an approval process which requires one or more library administrators to check the accuracy and appropriateness of the information before allowing it to be included. The processes include automated e-mails, as well as allowing users to view the status of their pending approval processes as soon as they log in. The processes can be customized to fit your organization's needs.

 
What software do I need to run DigitalM?
     
 

Since DigitalM is a web-based application, the only software you need is a web browser. DigitalM is supported by all major browsers including Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera browsers.

 
What if my system doesn't have the image information fields that I want?
     
 

You can add them. Along with storing images and slides, DigitalM also contains interfaces that can handle any additional data about your collections. Each implementation of the system is fully customizable to include only the image metadata or information fields that you need.

 
I don't need to store the same information for all my images. How can I keep my image records from getting cluttered with unnecessary data fields?
     
 

The flexible structure of DigitalM's Library module allows for the categorization of digital images in order to define per category the various content needs. This allows you to enter and store only the information that is pertinent to that particular category thus increasing the relevance of your collection data.

 
Is the system completely web-based or just partially?
     
 

Although you can integrate it with your paper-based or analog systems by printing out slide labels and catalog cards, DigitalM is built as a stand-alone web application. The system is entirely web-based and is supported by all major browsers.

 
What platforms is DigitalM compatible with?
     
 

Being a web-based system, DigitalM is naturally a cross platform system, supported by Windows, Macintosh, and Linux.

 
What type of staff training is required to become proficient with the system?
     
 

Because it is so simple and intuitive, there is little involved in the learning of the system. We are happy to provide any support you may require, but highly doubt that you will need any.

 
Does AllofE host DigitalM, or is it hosted on the client's Web site?
     
 

Your business's instance of DigitalM is developed on AllofE servers and is then migrated to your server so that you maintain complete control over the system.

 
Does AllofE provide tech support if I need it?
     
 

While AllofE prides itself on developing intuitive products that are designed for users to quickly pick up and learn themselves, if you should require formal support, then AllofE is happy to comply. We provide a robust staff development system (trainer-of-trainer model, printed training materials, online help, etc) as well as telephone support and face-to face support as needed.

 
What information on site hosting can you provide?
     
 

Our solutions can be hosted on your servers, or we can provide dedicated servers if needed. We support a wide range of operating systems (MacOS, Linux, Windows NT, 2000 & 2003 servers as well as most Unix servers) and database backends (MySQL, SQL Server, & Oracle). ASP hosting services can be provided as well.
